The geography of the DIZ covers over 34,000 businesses and over 454,000 residents in over 212,000 households and, collectively, it provides a major area for investment from both the public and private sectors. It covers five district and borough councils, reaches into two county councils in Essex and Hertfordshire and across two Local Enterprise Partnerships in SELEP and Herts LEP.
One of the major assets of the DIZ is its location between two major international digital centres in London and Cambridge. It is also home to a number of major leading international businesses and organisations eg. Public Health England’s headquarters in Harlow, London Stansted Airport, the Harlow Enterprise Zone, KAO Data and research assets such as Chesterford Research Park. The DIZ also contains a number of large sites that could accommodate new or expanding digital businesses eg. Park Plaza West, Bishops Stortford North and South, and North Weald Airfield site.
